The Shahada

The shahada is the door. Saying it sincerely, with belief in your heart, is the moment a person becomes a Muslim. There is no formal ceremony required, no test, no fee. Just truth.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
Ashhadu an lā ilāha illa-Llāh
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah."
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
Wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan rasūlu-Llāh
"And I bear witness that Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah."

If you've just said it

You are now a Muslim. Welcome home.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever embraces Islam, his sins are wiped away — completely" (Sahih al-Bukhari 41). Your past is forgiven. There is no probation. There is no test.

Allah loves you. Your brothers and sisters are now praying for you. May He keep you firm.
