Privacy Policy
Sacred Ayat ("we", "us", "our") operates sacredayat.co.uk and the Sacred Ayat YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Bluesky channels. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Email address when you join the mailing list, request a merch pre-order notification, or contact us via the site.
- Name and shipping address only if you submit a merch pre-order or place a Stripe order. Stripe processes payment data — we never see card numbers.
- Approximate location (city-level, via your browser or IP geolocation) is used only to display accurate prayer times. It is not stored.
- Anonymous analytics — page views and referrer for site-improvement purposes only. No cross-site tracking.
Why we collect it
- To send you the cinematic Quranic content you signed up for.
- To notify you when a merch product is available.
- To fulfil and ship orders you place.
- To respond to your questions when you contact us.
Who we share data with
We only share data with the third parties needed to deliver the service:
- Resend — sends transactional and newsletter emails.
- Stripe — processes payments for merch and donations.
- Printful — fulfils and ships merch orders.
- Aladhan API — supplies prayer-time data given a city.
- YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Bluesky — host our public videos. We use their official APIs (or approved partner Blotato) only to publish our own content; we do not collect user data from these platforms.
TikTok integration
We use the TikTok Content Posting API solely to publish our own short-form videos (and, where permitted, to read engagement metrics on our own posts). We do not request access to any other TikTok user's profile, posts, or private data. Authorisation can be revoked at any time from your TikTok settings.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies (session and CSRF). No advertising or tracking cookies are set.
Data retention
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe (one-click in every email). Order data is retained for 7 years to comply with UK accounting law. Browser-derived location is never stored.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, or restrict its processing. Email hello@sacredayat.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Sacred Ayat is suitable for all ages but we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will post the new version here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated to mailing-list subscribers.
